I am preparing jeans tote bags by using leftover parts of crocheted baskets.
Shabby chic appearance is attractive by itself. When I tried the bag, a part of the seams frayed. I regretted the weak construction, but the looked even better after a patch was sewn into.
And I realized that this tote increases its unique character with more use and additional repairs by the user. You don’t have to have a sewing machine. Just a needle and thread, and may be a piece of fabric will do. You don’t even need to be a skillful needle worker, to mend and make it look even cooler.
I am thinking to gift a small pill case sewing kit with the bag.
